Civil Service Commission

Overview

The Civil Service System for the City of Pasadena has been established pursuant to Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code for the purpose of developing and enforcing rules regarding the initial selection of police officers as well as for their advancement, benefits, and conditions of employment.

The Civil Service Commission abides by the following bylaws:

Member Details

The Mayor shall appoint and the City Council shall confirm the appointment of the three members of the Civil Service Commission ("Commission"). Each member of the Commission holds office for a staggered three year term beginning January 18th, and thereafter until a successor is appointed and has qualified.
