[ARCHIVED] Pasadena is getting a new inclusive Playground!!

Sunset Park Playground Rendering

A new playground that will have activities for kids of all abilities is being installed at Sunset Park in Pasadena. This playground will have slides, carousels, and a variety of ways for kids to have fun in the park! According to the Pasadena Healthy Parks Plan that was adopted in 2020, Pasadena was in need for more active inclusive spaces for its residents. Sunset Park seemed like the perfect spot as it is near the intersection of Richey and Southmore. The old playground at Sunset Park was about 20 years old and this new one will have a slightly larger footprint at about 7,500 sq. ft. This new playground should be completed by the end of January and will be the second inclusive all-access playground in the city. The other one is located at Verne Cox Adaptive Recreation Center. You can visit Sunset Park at 914 W Hart Ave. Pasadena, TX 77503 and there is also a parking lot off Richey Rd. For more information, please call 713-475-7048.
