Adopting a Cat

You can’t buy love, but you can rescue it.

If you’re looking for a new best friend, look no further! Our shelter has plus-size cats, petite cats, long-hair cats, and short-hair cats. We have investigative cats, laid-back cats, playful cats, and patrol cats.

They’re all stretching and circling, waiting for that one special person who’ll notice their potential.

Getting Started with Adoption

Ready for cuddling and curiosity?

Check out our Facebook page for info on some of our favorite pets.

  • Search on PetHarbor or Petfinder using zip code 77504.
  • Complete an application.
  • Make a list of pet names while you wait to hear back from us. It can take us up to three business days to process an application. And please, check your voicemail and junk email folders for a response!
  • Schedule an appointment to visit so we can maintain adherence to social distancing standards. As of May 18, 2020, an appointment is required to adopt.
  • Visit us! Next door to the Animal Shelter (at 5150 Burke Road), we also have an Adoption Center.

In the event that you don’t hear back within three business days about an application, please email us at
